Banks getting bailed out

What do you think should be done about this? Should the government continue to bail out banks that go bankrupt? NO.
Why are we giving money and empowering people that have screwed up when we are already in the hole!?!!? The best action to take, which I've been saying for over a month now and haven't seen it suggested once, is to give those banks to the banks that HAVEN'T screwed up. Obviously they're doing something right... or did I miss something?

Obama's going to save us! We'll
spend
our way out of this fiasco!
My sense of rational self-interest dictates that I should not pay any taxes which I don't
have
to anymore. I don't do charity work. I'll spend my shit correctly.
It's the come-up. Fuck Uncle Sam. I'm a patriot of the people, not the failing sprawling bureaucratic septic tank our inept government has become. Anyone else ready for a second civil war yet?

Except for the UNREGULATED banks and insurance companies like AIG, the US banks paid insurance premiums to FDIC to be used to cover depositors accounts and also have FDIC-specified minimum reserves against the likelyhood of a bank failure. The FDIC then finds a buyer for the failed bank and guarantees funding for the takeover. The problem is, the FDIC is being stretched a bit thin with all the bank failures of the REGULATED kind.
But don't worry, Obama promises are good as gold.

The US bank problems has to be incompetence. I say that because in Canada there are 6 major banks. All of them are quite healthy. They also make obscene amounts of money year after year - including last year. So much so, that inquiries have been set up to look into all their fees that they charge for virtually anything. They could have just as easily got into the poor investments and sub-prime mortgages that the US did - but they didn't. So the only explanation between similar large banks going into insolvency and the same type of bank in Canada making huge profits, is decision-making or incompetence. It's not a matter of greed because both sides of the border have a great deal of it.

Yeah qwazy, I was referring to the regulated banks. I actually just recently learned about all that the FDIC does and offers on 60 mins the other day.
Just the concept of giving money to the people who are prone to losing it astounds me. Couldn't they just keep all the employees(like the fdic), but let a successful bank take over with their methods?? It's just so simplistic to solve this issue. And yes, I'm aware that some of the bankruptcies may not have been due to incompetent managing but STILL...... c'mon!!
And yes I agree with you recycled it is due to incompetence.

Just to give some perspective to what this hand-out money really looks like, here's a link that shows cash lumps from a mere million dollars all the way up to a trillion. Gives you pause to think if these guys really know what they're doing....
