At one time the Church held that the world was flat, existed at the center of the universe and the sun and planets revolved around it. To say that it was not so was "heresy", punishable by torture and death. Science proved the world was round. A fact known to the "heathen" Greeks, more than 2000 years before Galilleo. A fact proven by scientific advances that led to the Apollo missions and the image of Earth posted above.

HAHA! Bullshit. I guess if a person is naive enough to believe fairy tales in a book, they're also naive enough to believe Jeffrey Dahmer when he says he's found Jesus. He was lying. Look at him. He's lying. I don't know, maybe other people aren't as aware and sensitive enough to pick up on when they're being lied to, but it comes pretty easy to me.

I would agree he's lying as well.  He knows an awful lot about how, to him, things won't matter since there is no god, and then brushes over his belief, so it appears he was just trying to calm his father down.

Some serial killers can be quite intelligent, yet be completely blind to some things. Particularly about what their personality disorder entails. Most of them are incapable of feeling sympathy for others due to a conditioned state or chemically impaired portion of the brain. You can tell them this all day long, and they'll still insist on lies such as "Now that I know there is a supreme being over me, I have the ability to weigh my actions before doing the deed." Such a statement still does not indicate that they have come to know sympathy for the suffering of others, just that they know it's better not to do the deed because it has a negative outcome for themselves. It continues to display that they only have thoughts about their own gratification.
