Why would they run away and quarantine earth?  If they have the ability to travel interstellar distances; whatever bullsheat we have here most likely has no bearing on a truly extraterrestrials ability to survive, weather pollution from plutonium or diseases.

The point being if the can travel stars they have the knowledge of not exposing themselves to such things before hand. Thereby stopping the issue before it starts.

Was trying to find the source of the Orson Welles clip featured in that video.

Managed to find it. He mentions at about 7:30 what defeated the aliens in War of the Worlds.
