Tastyspleen Calendar, alander, alandar.... whatever

Because I'm both a scripting newb and have got my hands tied with all sorts of fun things, I'm putting a shoutout here for someone to assist me in making a gridded-schedule-dynamic-useful-thing for all of the Tastyspleen community to contribute to and enjoy. Here's a rundown of *required* baseline features:
-The ability for a user (preferably a user group) to add and edit events
-Simple interface and calendar skin.. just a simple grid would do the trick
-Pop-up details for more information on items.

And here are some features that would be cool, but aren't needed at the moment:
-Color coding for categories!
-Custom user levels, so that read\writes can be moderated.
-An rss feed might be groovy.

Pretty much something with the basic functionality of google cal, but more integrated and less gui-tastic. If all else fails, I'll end up setting up a google one (already have one preliminarily) for use until then.
Thoughts on the idea in general?

Holy shits, I totally forgot that the forum had that capability - by george, it needs to be used more often! Who has access to it?
