Ok fellas, it's time to build. Myspace has recently adopted the Opensocial API to allow third-party developers to build applications for their platform. This is our time to seize this market and build something that is not only great, but extremely profitable. With all the brilliant programmers here I'm pretty sure that we can gather enough collective intelligence to build a very very great team.
So here is my Vision. We use the social data from Myspace to deliver full multiplayer gaming. Something akin to Yahoo! Games but for Myspace. I know it sounds pretty simple, but if we can build an impressive demo using only a simple 2D game (pong for example) that demonstrates a multiplayer session between two myspace users, then we will be the first to show that we have taken control of this market and be that goto company that can deliver online gaming to the myspace community. I'm sure that once we have a few prototypes developed, funding will soon follow quickly.

- This is the link that will give you an overview of the myspace developer platform, have a look around and tell me what you think. I've already developed a few simple "Hello World" applications using the RESTapi (I'm using ActionScript 3). But if we want to scale something to include multiplayer sessions, I'm going to need a lot of help. Please respond here if you're interested. I will have more Client/Server side specifications shortly.

it is because it always has database problems, and people make their sites so fucked up. if they fixed that, i think it would pretty cool, just by the sheer amount of users.

With a user-base of over 65 million, i don't think it's a waste. That can be a lot of traffic if you can build the right applications.

Wow... I actually... agree with that.
On the whole, it's not only a waste of bandwidth, but a waste of time. So many people insist on blogging about the stupid boring intricacies of their life that are more or less better left unsaid. People talk about their personal problems way too damn much. Anyone and everyone can read it, especially those who have no business having any kind of insight into one's personal life. Remember the good old days when teenage girls would keep their diaries LOCKED and inside a locked fireproof safe under their bed with more chains and padlocks around THAT for extra measure? From the few times I've actually seen a myspace page, the idiots had 40,000 little flash images and other little do-dads that caused the page to take 15 minutes to completely load, even with broadband.
DIE, MYSPACE!
But hey, if you can cash in on the trend somehow, I'm all for fleecing the flock. More power to you. Viva capitalista!

If someone really spends that much of their life blogging, they probably don't have a very interesting life to blog about.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
