Spectator mode

Is there a way that all of the servers could be upgraded to included the different camera views in spectator mode, particularly the in-eyes cam? Or is there an intentional reason why these are currently unavailable?

id Software only provided the default "from behind" spectator mode.  If you play on a server that has additional spectator modes, those are part of a custom-coded mod.

If anyone wants to send me code patches to our FFA mod to add additional spectator modes, I'll be happy to recompile them.  But I don't have time to add them myself.

there is a mod that is called gamecam
it works along side any mod in the same way q2admin does

not sure how you would get that going if all servers still use q2admin

GAMECAM changes the players name while in spectator.  This would change WallFly's name and render him useless.  :/

To my knowledge there is no way around this, but it would be great for us all if i could be proven wrong on that fact.

i know i also saw a guide somewhere for getting gamecame and q2admin to play together

we could probably ask r1ch if his spectator code would be compatible.

SkulleR actually has a mod called OpenFFA on the Q2Pro SVN, I'm not sure what state it's in though.
