recycled this work ok locally, and netgraph is fine?

then yeah, looks like some of the stuff posted, like threading optimization settings, blah blah.  i guess try default configuration in q2, updated vid. driver (or maybe even an older driver), look at the vid card settings, hopefully this is already fixed for you!

Its quite acceptable now, even without the threaded opt. Forcing V-sync and 3x buffering helped.

Yea, this setting (Threaded Optimization) has caused issues for most Quake2-derived games, as well.  Q2W, Alien Arena, UFO:AI, Digital Paint..quite annoying.  It can be disabled programmatically, but it of course requires a bunch of WGL extensions calls.  I think UFO:AI attempts to disable it on startup.

I got 500mhz 256ram 8mb video on software and play fine. When I got back thou Q2 has mayor Laf even on the menus. Just did a clean install, downloading to test. Diablo 1 and 2 still worked fine thou and there haven't been any XP updates (running XP Pro SP2). Lets see what happens.
