Corrupt map download?

downloaded all-maps.zip 2 times now and this is all I get



any suggestions or ideas ? downloading them 1 at a time on server join is death to my 1meg line

I know that Xp pro and home had issues with zips before service pack 1. Also there still are some random and unpredictable zipping issues in XP to this day. A zip that works on 99 computers won't work on the 100th until it is zipped again by someone else.

My suggestions are to either get winzip or another program that handles zip files to see if you can get into that file that way. Or the more common answer is to download it on another computer and extract it. Then either zip it again or transfer it using a different method. (I.E. burn it onto a CD or copy it to a shared folder)

I doubt that it matters but looking at that zip-icon I see that you use ME's/XP's standard zip tool instead of Winzip. Nah.. that should not make a difference. I usually just get the maps I need from the individual map download section and then download the textures and stuff on server join.

Tried unzipping with WinRar, no good. Thank you very much for the feedback, didnt know about the zip bug mentioned. Tomorrow I'll try downloading it to my laptop and extracting there, then sharing the folder with this p.o.s. Thanks again.

3rd strike. Tried it on my new laptop, same error. Tried Winrar, no good. Could I get the forums "Village Idiot" stamp on my forehead ?

I D/l'd it fine, unzipped good, possibly it is your client corrupting the file during D/L????

are you using some sort of "download accelerator" program ?
