Interesting Quit Smoking Book

Check this book out and read the reviews, I just thought maybe it would interest some of you guys. I discovered it yesterday on Amazon.

It costs $10 but for me was hard to find locally. If you search google, I found a "Free" ebook version available for download in case you would like to "try before you buy"

Anyway... I have read half of it, and its pretty promising. It's like it takes what you think is reality "I like smoking and am addicted to it", and plants a new version in your head -

i've been smoking cigarettes for three years now, i quit for three months at one point.  but i got really stressed out at one point. personally i think it's pretty easy to quit if you have all the write tools.  it's a good idea to be feeling good, have nicotine gum, and maybe be on medication nuerotin/welbutrin.  these things just make it extremley easy, you can always suck it up and just quit :)  . i would just read up on a non smoking website, to understand quitting smoking, and smoking

personally i don't think it can be easier than what i mentioned before, it was pretty damn easy.  it wasn't quitting smoking that caused me stress that made me grab a cig months later.  it was dealing with the ex-girfriend :)
but if you read up on a nonsmoking website, you learn a lot.  for instance, cravings only really last like three minutes, so just tough it out for three minutes.  nuerotin or welbutrin plus nicotine gum really cuts down the cravings a lot more to.  if you have all that stuff in place you don't need a whole lot of willpower to not smoke, you will feel fine (as good as you can) without smoking.

I smoked cigarettes for a 3 years now. I never feel a real need to smoke throughout the day. Sometimes I go a few days without one and don't think twice about it. But once I get to a bar, I will smoke the whole pack in front of me and then work on somebody else's. I believe I could drop smoking and think nothing of it if I wanted to. Just takes a strong mind...

agreed with ya there jager.. but i dont think it even takes a strong mind, most people who try to quit smoking are doing it for reasons outside themselves... they want to smoke, but for some reason or another, they decide to quit... wanting something you want to stop doing makes it pretty hard.

you can want to quit, but not enough to actually quit, because cigarettes are addicting.  yeah if i wanted to quit badly enough, i would just not smoke.  that doesn't mean i don't want to quit, i just want it to be easy, so i'm going to wait a few months

I finally finished reading the book last night.

Personally, and out of all honesty, I think it is an excellant book. When I first starting reading it, I managed to finish half of it in one setting. But, after a day or two, what I had read in the first part kinda wore off.

Not saying that the book doesnt work, or wont work. Just saying that I think that it would be more effective if you read it all at one go.

With that said... I decided to go ahead and call it quits after I finished the book last night. I have to say that the book has given me some tools to use in fighting the cravings mentally. When I start to think that I want a cigarette, I have to tell myself that I don't ... and if I did smoke, what good is it going to do me? After sitting and focusing on the reasons why I think that I need to smoke, the craving dissipates. (sp?)
