Camera for q2

This is a server side customizeable spectating tool for q2.

i am attempting to use it for Weapons Of Destruction since no WOD mods have a spectator mode.

The program works.  i did not have the time to look into its customizability.  In its day of use, i noted that i didnt really like the default camera angles.  i was looking for something to admin my servers with as in view in eyes of all players.  i think i may be able to do this yet, but i havent taken the time.  My main problem lies in the fact that all my servers run q2admin.  q2admin requires you create a c:quake2\release directory and place a gamex86.dll in there.  Well, so does CAMERA.  i havent been able to figure out how to do both.

i do think if we got this working it may help all servers.  i hope that even all tastyspleen servers could have in eyes view to spectate from.  IF we could get past the install issue.

Camera is intentionally out of Comp Weapons for debug reasons...I have seen camera in other versions of Wod and Lox mods that work pretty well , only been on 1 server running Comp Weapons with camera installed but i think that was vers. 1.20 of Comp Weaps ( think you are running vers.1.0). Not sure if this vers. of Camera is the (Headhunters Mod ?)

yeah, i like the early versions of wod.  the later ones got so spammy i feel like skill isnt a part of the game.  i am SO addicted to shooting slugz through walls.

The problem with the camera is not mod or version related, but install related.  It has to do with q2admin.  If you see a server running q2admin AND the camera, let me know!

Hello again Gator.. I see Darkmans Wod running Wod 7.51 with (cam) IP 24.1.122.104 standard Q2port..not sure which vers. of q2 admin he is running ..Dont see any Comp servers running with Cam presently, keep an eye out though..
Hey i know i said this b4 but i have vers. 1.20 of Comp Weaps it has the alternate Rail Cannon and Alternate Hyper (Disruptor)
Just like in old Wod 6.0 has the entity displacement (knocks things around in map, very kewl effects).. Also has much faster weapons changes.. Have the game files for Win n Linux. If you wanna try it out ..

Mono, thanks for the offer.  i would like to have it on file, but i can think of at least two good pinging servers that run it now.  Both of the LOF servers run that mod.  i personally dont see a reason to run the mod myself if there are two running 24/7 already.  They dont get as much traffic as they used to.  Maybe some day in the future.  Or maybe i might switch the versions out on a weekly/monthly basis to keep things new and fresh.

Chm0d did get the CAMERA working today. added +proxy q2admin:gamecam at the beginning of the command line for the server and it is running.

The next challenge will be getting ar-admin running again.  i'm hoping to get it working.  It is simply the coolest stats page i have ever seen.  Shows fph, combo kills, most killed, most killed by, hours played, kill runs, etc.  Had ar-admin running once, then forgot how we had it installed!  We'll get it straightened out.  Then hopefully have an operational stats page running.

ahh...  just gimme that infra-red laser and I'm happy...   but yeah..  the slugs thru walls is fun till I get that
