Jumpmod server assistance

Here's a list of maps still without weapons and my opinions:

ICEJUMP1 - place on top of the end of the 'N' in "FINISH," the jump can be made.
J-ARENA2 - in front of each final room teleporter.  The shorter rooms are harder and the easier rooms longer, so it should balance out.
JUMP - on ledge before lava.
MADJUMPING10 - at end of lowest tunnel.
POOJUMPLV1 - on red platform.
PRIT_HOLYJUMP1 - on top of vertical rock ledge so it can't be easily grabbed by jumping from the side, but instead only by ramp double jumping from the far end.
RACE - I have no idea.
RAYES-JUMP1 - behind the 'chicks.'  (Mya, don't bitch at me, that's what Id called them.)
SPJUMP1 - center of the red room.
SPJUMP3 - on the black platform before the teleporter in the hard room.
SPJUMP5 - near the wall directly behind the second room's spawnpad.
WINJUMP6 - behind the word "DONE."

Here are a few questionable maps:

BR_JUMP4EVER_2 - there are weapons on the top of the maze, but no ladder or other method of climbing can be found.  Either grenades or a new weapon at the end of the maze should work.
EZZ_TJ_1_V2 - Digency placed a railgun temporarily at the beginning of the map.  Mir^mortal and I both grabbed it before he removed it and our scores should be deleted so as to attain legitimate times.
SPJUMP11 - line the floor with grenades or alter the gravity slightly for this map only.

I was making sure Azteklights was completable and, while high in the second room, the server crashed with the following error:

Server exited: area > numarea

Please fix the download preference altering, and that should be the end of the more important stuff.  After these are taken care of I can go through the duplicates, make new maps or other tasks, if so desired.

Anyone having heightened jumping skils and the attention-to-detail and interest in improving the jump server, with specific, researched ideas as evidenced in your post, should have ADMIN_REMMAP and ADMIN_ADDBOX etc. in my book.

If this turns out not to be possible, i.e. something that would take source code we don't have, it may be conceivable that you could alias "connect" in your autoexec.cfg to 1st exec a config that would reset your preferences; then perform the "sv connect" to .... EXCEPT that q2 aliases don't pass arguments, do they - damn   Hoping for an end-run work-around.

Well, I don't know the first thing about what would reset your client's download preferences.  We could try some "developer 1" logging (turned on in your client) and see if it records any clues.

I'm not devoted, it's just there are about a dozen maps which need service and I haven't seen Digency around lately.  I'd rather not have any control over the server short of what most players use there.  I don't need people thinking I'm an admin or anything going wrong and me in the middle of it having to take flak from both sides.  If I ran my own server, however...

As for the config trick, the server repeatedly resets my preferences at the beginning of each map, so there needs to be some definitive way to stop it.  It doesn't seem to change my player models/skins setting, though, and that was my biggest gripe.  I've since repaired my .cfg and that's no longer as big of an issue.  Take your time and I'll be happy when the answer is found.

anyways, you wouldn't be an admin, you would just be able to make a few changes here and there.  Don't worry about those who would complain.  As long as your not doing anything wrong, you should have nothing to worry about.

Jumpmod perms are pretty fine-grained.  You don't get any extra perms until you log in as an admin, and then, you get whatever perms are associated with your "admin level" number.  What I was offering what the ability to fix the maps by being able to add and delete weapons and items.

If a newer version (.dll or .cfg) that fixes bugs and such were released, how quickly could I get you to upgrade the server?

Same speed as anyone else.    Depends on the severity of the problems that are being fixed.  If it fixed some kind of rcon exploit or server hack exploit it would go up pretty damn fast.

I was hoping for something closer in a solution to people acting like ***holes during the last five minutes of a map.  During that time everyone is given level one admin powers and it's impossible to squelch or kick anybody who's shooting at players, trying to clip their jumps.  I've had to deal with these people moreso since it takes me a bit longer to get warmed up to a map and need all 20+ minutes available, occasionally even repeating a map later on just to score.  With only ten or so maps to fix, barring a few others, I'd need some way to remove a score or two, as well (like Mort's and mine on EZZ_TJ_1_V2).  If no one else is willing to fix those last ten maps I'll give it a temporary try.  Let me know about any responsibilities or rules I'll need to adhere to - I don't want anything coming back to haunted me... oops, another Freudian slip.

On another note, I tend to get really bad packet loss on the Jump and Tourney4 servers after 6PM EST until after midnight and I'm betting they're run from the same rig in D. C.  Just now I was measuring probably a third red in my netgraph and it was less playable than usual.  I'm wondering what might be causing this, so any information would be a big help.  The other OSP servers look fine, rarely any lines on my screen at all.

My 'job' on jumpmod has nothing to do with you, and I DO fix maps if I am connected while they're broken. Also, I am NOT the only admin on the jump server and I would have no problem with ax being one.

2) Stop thinking you're funny by making pathetic attempts to be witty, you're not.
3) Stay out of other peoples' business, especially mine being that I've asked you several times.

More than anything just please stop starting shit with me / even talking to me. I don't mind you being a douche as long as it doesn't involve me... I don't like to associate myself with little females. If you don't like the way I conduct myself on these forums, then take it up with the admins, because everyone can see through your pointless bullshit and it gets you nowhere.
