I made a model of a 6pack of beer cans several years ago to use for the +10 health pack, and over the years through various paks I've made, I've reskinned them with different things... Miller Lite, Warsteiner, etc.

Tonight I was kinda bored a did a texture to make them look like old vintage collectible baseball player cans of RC Cola, with John Carmack on the can rather than old baseball players. Haven't uploaded it, but I will soon.

I think I made someone else a 1-off custom beer pack years ago on request. If anyone else would like me to make one for them, let me know. Just link me a couple of example images of cans if you want to be really picky about how it looks.

I also have a 12pack box of bottles model I can do for the larger +25. I also have very distinctive can popping and bottle opening sounds to use with them for health pickup sounds. And like I said, they are distinctive sounding, so competitive players can differentiate between the sounds for listening to your opponents.

I've also got a big Jagermeister bottle for a megahealth. In other paks I put Jack Daniels bottles and Rumple Minze bottles for stimpacks. I'd possibly be open to creating new bottle models for stimpacks or megahealths if someone has an idea for one they want. Single bottles ONLY though. I don't want to do any multipacks of beer bottles. Too complicated. Keep it simple, one bottle.

I think I also have a pot leaf adrenaline model somewhere. I'd be open to creating some type of model for that as well provided it's simple enough.

I have other models... but basically, I'm just gonna post my HEALTH related models and textures here. I've also done custom ammo pickup packs before, and if anyone wants that kinda shit, I can make another thread just for that stuff. But gun pickup models... NO. I "can" do them, but they take a lot of effort and time, and I don't want to fool with models that take more than a day or two to finish.

I'll get individual downloads of each of my health packs posted here pretty soon, as well as the new RC Cola one I worked on tonight.

Turns out I really don't have as many beer models as I thought I did. "Beer pack" models from a few other paks were actually the old Hi-Res/Hi-poly health boxes that I just slapped some beer logos on. Not gonna post those.

Found one I didn't end up using in the pak I made it for, but figured I'd post it anyway in case someone wants to use it. It's shaped more like a 12pk box of cans.

Put it in it's own little pak for quick and easy installation and usage. Included in the pak is the accompanying "can popping" health pickup sound that goes with it.

EDIT: Just discovered something a little bit annoying. Apparently when Quake2 is loading your paks, it loads the higher numbered/named ones last and what is in those loaded last is what overwrites the stuff in lower numbered paks. BUT... if for some reason you have a skin in a lower numberd pak that is TGA rather than PNG, and your higher numbered pak does NOT have a TGA to overwrite it, it uses the TGA from the lower numbered pak and puts it on the model from the higher numbered pak. Fuckin' weird. But T is later in the alphabet than P, so I guess that's what it's doing.

Probably sounds confusing, huh? Confused the hell outta me at first until I figured out what was happening. So I'm gonna have to go back and convert the PNG's to additional TGA's in case someone drops one of these into a folder using a model with a TGA.

I stopped drinking Coca-Cola a few years ago. I much prefer the other cola from Georgia, RC Cola.

This is what the old RC Cola cans from the 70's looked like. They made a series of about 100+ unique collectible cans with different baseball players on them. Entire sets of these cans in good condition go for a few hundred bucks these days.



For my own version, I added John Carmack and some "stats" about him rather than a baseball player.

Budwieser 2011 cans

I was looking through some old shit in my Nascar Racing game folder, and I have a "plethora" of logos and such that I collected to use for painting up race cars years ago. Had some old Budweiser shit from 2011 that was pretty easy to turn into a can texture. I DO NOT drink this bullshit, but maybe you do.

This is the real life box design I used to base this version on. I haven't bought any High Life in a few years, so I'm not sure what the box looks like now, but I'm pretty sure this is the old design from a few years ago.

Seems like Budweiser has been doing an awful lot of "special" can designs lately. At the moment, they've got a few versions of Christmas/Holiday cans out, which I will NOT be making any model textures for unless I get a serious special request for it. This is the latest "regular" version of the Budweiser can they introduced a year or so ago.

Not sure if this is what the current Warsteiner cans look like. This texture comes from my SS Wehrmacht V2 pak that I made back in 2017-2018, so the image I used to base this on was found at about that time.

This one comes from my old Focalor's Pak V10 which I posted back in early January 2015. These are NOT what the current Heineken boxes look like. This would most likely be what the Heineken 12pks looked like back in probably 2014 or earlier. I have no plans to make a current version of the Heineken 12 pk, but I'd be happy to do it if someone requested it.

Paulaner Hefe-Weizen 12pk bottles box
(LARGE +25 HEALTH PACK)

This one was used as the large health pack in my SS Wehrmacht V2 pak. Probably my #1 favorite beer. I used to drink pint after pint of this stuff damn near every night after work at the Taco Mac I frequented back in college. It's basically major brand mainstream beer over in Germany, kinda like Budweiser might be to us here in America, but it definitely beats the shit out of anything from the major brands made in America. Pretty good stuff, give it a try if you ever get the chance.

A new addition for your Quake2 beer can collection:

Classic City Lager 6pk cans
(SMALL +10 HEALTH PACK)

Made by a small local Athens GA microbrew. Pretty good stuff. Try some if you ever spot any. It's not "AMAZING" or surprising. It's what you'd expect from a small town American lager. Beats the hell outta Budweiser, oh absolutely. On par with Sam Adams sort of. Sam Adams is a little more robust/hoppy tasting in my opinion.

They sell it at a couple of the Walmarts in and around the Athens vicinity. But perhaps it's made it's way to a small liquor store near you. I've mainly seen it in 12oz 6pks, but it also comes in 16oz 4pks, usually 8 or 9 bucks. It doesn't come in bottles.
