Saturday 3/25 at 1 pm the Radio Inside the Game guys are going to be broadcasting for the Transatlantic GGL matchup for Quake 4.  I think Dahang and Scooby are representing the USA with the black dragons so I'd like to listen to the coverage.

Can anybody thats used this before explain it to me?  Do I idle in an IRC channel?  How does it work?

When there is a stream available there will be a winamp link right next to the text that now says: Next on radioiTG!


Just click that, and winamp will play the audiostream. Idle in the channel to know whats going on, when games are taking place and stuff like that, but that should also be posted on the website as well. Pretty simple

Actually it looks like ggl.com might have live video coverage.

yeah, GGL usually if not always hosts the video stream from radio iTG. Radio iTG usually only run the audiostream from their site.

Hopefully they will cover the final of the NDML this year too. Too bad q2 has no working gtv like q3 has, q2tv is such a crappy program it's of little use. Else you could watch the game on gtv and sync it with the shoutcast, that was/is really nice in qw/q3, watching and listening to games at once.

I have yet to see a single shoutcast for a FPS game that was worth anything. (I've seen some for PK/QW/Q3/HL-CS)
FPS games don't need announcing... unless you have never played the games, but then why would you care to watch it if you had never played the game?

Yes.

I want announcers that know inside info on the teams and their strategies.  Most announcers state the obvious, as DEMOn said, as if you have never seen the game.

I'm all for it shoutcasts, but suggest they have deeper content.

I have played Q4, although I don't really care for it.  I would like to hear how the black dragons do though, since they are a almost all Q2 players.

The 1v1 should be fairly interesting too, since this Russian cooller that will be playing is supposed to be the best in the world right now.

b|d lost 2-1 vs D|S. Since they came from loser bracket they had to win the first best of 3 map game (which they did 2-0). However there was only played one last deciding map, which they lost by a small margin (really tense ending). Too bad, mik3d/DaHanG/Scooby are all q2'ers, and would be nice to see them play ic

I like good shoutcasting, adds a lot of atmosphere to tournament games (where you also need to know things outside the map played). Besides the stream is very hard to follow, it's practically useless without shoutcasting. Anyway, I enjoyed it a lot.
