System Conga line?
« on: August 13, 2015, 05:37:57 AM »
Hiya...

Windows Vista had an update last night, and shits hitting the fan.

Restarted it as required, but in the middle of the restart a black screen oddly listed a bunch of components apparently being examined, then it re-restarted. Now my antivirus(TotalDefense Internet security suite) has reported  the Windows System folder trying to access a congaline of Ips over Port 27019 Protocol UDP(to list the one trying at the moment). NOT System32,but some empty folder called System I cannot do anything with,or modify permissions in order to try to do anything either. I'm not sure what I can do to stop it either...

Priority one, is all your personal data, artwork, etc., backed up to a secondary, separate removable hard drive? (Or, perhaps something like amazon cloud drive.)

Once your data is safe, then at least the worst case scenario should be the annoyance of an OS reinstall.

On a related note, making periodic whole-system snapshots with software like Acronis True Image gives one the option of rolling the entire OS back to the state of a previous backup. (Keeping one's personal data on a separate HDD partition than the OS makes this process the least painful.)

As for troubleshooting the network traffic, perhaps something like https://www.glasswire.com/ would help show exactly which processes are causing the traffic.

(There are also more technically-oriented tools like https://www.wireshark.org/ .)

The problem seems to have gone away,or embeded itself beyond sight. I restarted and so far no alerts.
Does glasswire work on an OS as old as Vista Premium? I tried insalling it,but it said it wasn't compatable. and the forums were unhelpful in informing Minimum requirements. I am using a smartphone as an IP now,so I won't worry too much about it.

DM server is fucked. 2 point blank rockets from spawn and lava damage and player survived? WTF?" Also someone has fucked with the spawn points, every single time no matter how big the map you spawn right in front of the person who killed you last
