R1Q2 Crashes in 3 seconds after connected to a server...

Hi guys. I don't have too much information about the crashes. I can see players playing for 3 secs and r1q2 crashes. Windows says R1Q2 has stopped working... I have windows 8, ati card. quake2.exe plays well. With r1q2 i can play single player or local.

Can you help me?

try setting it to run in xp compatibility mode in the properties menu.

in the r1q2 console, make sure you're using the r1gl renderer :  set vid_ref r1gl

also, make sure you have current vid drivers installed and in their options, if you can, turn off threaded optimization.

Thank you for the help. But still the problem persists.

I get this report after crashing. (I tried to use software graphics to see if it is driver related...)

I found the problem. I guess it was because of the anticheat and my 2 custom paks for rocket explosions. I hope it helps another noob. Instead of kicking me from the server, it crashes. So yeah. Thank you again.

More likely the custom paks you have. Graphic renderings etc. try unloading them and re-test your q2

Yes, mf, that was it. Actually it was because of the R1Q2 with paks. I switched to q2pro and I am so happy with it. No problems at all and it is a totally different q2 experience. Nice to be back.
