The post on bethesda about Q2's 15th and showing the q2 figured didn't have anything about the game.  I assumed it was all word of mouth.

I petition a New Year's bash or Christmas or w/e.  I'm really depressed that I missed this.  :/

My friends and I decided to LAN this year for something different at Christmas.  First time we will have LAN'ed since 1998.

I popped on for a couple maps before I had to head home from work. It was interesting to see that many people on the dm maps.

Interesting? More like INSANE. The one map I won, I was surprised at how I was able to rack up tons of consecutive quick kills in the mg room using nothing but a machinegun and the ammo left by the endless succession of dropped mg's of the scores of people I repeatedly fragged. Couldn't move 5 feet without constantly bumping into someone. "Excuse me, pardon me, excuse me, pardon me, coming through, pardon me, excuse me."

I hardly ever fire a blaster at someone, but at this event I always came out firing the blaster.  If I hit someone and they were already half dead (this happened a lot) I continued to blast away.  I got more blaster kill than I can ever remember getting.

I KNOW! Most of the time in DM most of my kills are RL, HB, CG, GL... occasionally I'll get a lucky rail in there But this time it was all blaster, machinegun, SSG kills! It was just... 20 frags a minute and nowhere to hide.

Thanks! Unfortunately while fiddling with LMPC I discovered that Q2 server demos apparently don't contain any chat messages or even any obituary text.

I need to go through mine and see what I can do with them. There are stretches of AFKness and I'm really not a very good player, but I'll salvage what I can! If I need to, I'll capture them using FRAPS and upload the edited videos to Youtube or something.
