2v2 Tournament Registration Open

You can select your own teammate.  In the last 2v2 tournament, players in need of a teammate were listed so they could pair up on their own.

Given the wide range of skill and experience in Quake 2, I really think it would be beneficial if the tournament were split into a sport and novice bracket.  We would probably need at least 64 players to enter, creating 2 brackets of 16 teams each.  It would also encourage some of tastyspleen's newer players to enter.  This formula was successful in tourney3, and I don't see any reason to go away from it.  Thoughts?

Good idea. I barely play so I'd join novice...that would reflect my skills better.

And is there a place where you can see the teams and the ones that are alone for now? Like in the first 2v2 tourney...maybe I could find someone to play with me in the alone list.

if we get close to 64 ppl,  I dont see why not extend it to get as few more...   or maybe just egg on a few more to sign up now...  I'll throw a post up over at aw and see if we cant get enough for 2 brackets

The deadline has been extended and Mya has (wisely) split the tournament into two skill-based brackets.  We need about 15 more players to have an even 64 (2 16-team brackets), so if you were thinking about registering but didn't because you are new to Q2, there is now a bracket for you.  You don't need to have a teammate, other players are already looking for someone to play with.
