Doesn't look good. Eye is still set to go over my house at cat 4. Literally dead center on the track.

Looking bad
Moving inland could still be bad because of possible flooding.
Take care Haunted.

Yeah I know it's my main concern with leaving. I want to stay and send my wife and kid away, but she is vehemently against that. It's been an ongoing argument for days, lol. When I tell her about the 30 some hurricanes I've been through she just thinks I'm nuts, taking it way too lightly, and complacent. Really I'm just trying to make her not worry as much mostly and I wanna watch over my shit. This one might be the worst I've had to deal with though.
Back to the first sentence, I also can't evacuate then not be able to get back to my house for over a week. I had the idea of going to Charleston then taking 17 back up to avoid inland flooding. That has its cons, but it's one of the better options possibly.
It's also the first hurricane I've dealt with since I bought my house about 2 years ago. So it's a new thing to me, I'm used to my hometown.

hotels stays can be expensive for an extended period unless you got family friends nearby.

An update.
I evacuated. And I'm pissed for doing so. My wife was basically on her hands and knees crying for me to go so I caved in. MOTHER FUCKER. I told her never again is that happening. She agreed.
Now I can't get to my house. My neighbor's house is completely toast. Roof damage then the rain destroyed him. He couldn't get the water out a fast as it was coming in. Who KNOWS what my house is like on the inside. On the outside I got lucky from what he says. But he has like 5 5 ft diameter holes in his ceiling.
And here I am not able to do shit for another day or 2 because of flooding and trump labeling counties disaster areas so i95 gets shut down(the long way that would've worked).

Nah, you did good leaving. You got a family you need to be there for. Losing everything hurts, but you can replace a house and all the "stuff". Losing
someone
, that's a hurt that never goes away and never gets any better. They were saying shit about 100mph winds, 15 foot higher than usual tides, and several days of rainfall at rates of several inches per hour. And I haven't been a rubbernecker 24/7 news gawker like many people who are getting fucking ENTERTAINMENT from the misery and tragedy befalling others during this shit (like my old lady who's had the weather channel on all day yesterday
),... and I sincerely hope these Weather Channel reporters get 2 weeks of constant explosive diarrhea until they lose 70 lbs and begin to welcome death... but from the bits I've seen briefly on the news yesterday, shit was quite
precarious
in the Carolinas.

I wanted them to evacuate and me to stay, they would've been fine with my mom at my aunt's. It wasn't that bad, it's just the rainfall afterwards if you have even some slight roof damage in my situation. I'm on high ground so zero flooding. Our small area was the only one that got more than 100 which isn't that bad. You just tie up trees. I'm the only one in a neighborhood of over a hundred houses who has zero fallen trees from what I hear. By the time it reached Wilmington it was already 90 or less.

What area is your house in?
I hope it all works out good for you.
Like Foc said, your family is safe and that is what really matters.
Just think of all the beach replenishment that is going to be needed
I can't believe UNC used Florence to duck out of a game with the National Champion UCF

I just got back. The area is terrible. My next door neighbor has 120k plus in damage. I have 3 sections of fence out(nice, solid, 8 ft high privacy fence), water damage on my floor by my back door to the deck(swollen with mold), and lost everything in my fridge and chest freezer. So I did very well. The amount of debris is more than any storm I've dealt with though.
The fridge is on its way out also. The rotten shrimp juice and chicken blood made a previous issue unknown to me way worse and my freezer rusted and breached through in the back. Boy was that smell bad. We've cleaned it twice thoroughly and have cups of bleach and baking soda sitting in each door.
I hope I don't have to buy a new fridge. I don't like mine. I hate the vertical split door, which is why I have a chest freezer. But it's over 30 cu ft, Kenmore elite, so I know it was expensive. It fits perfectly into the slot for it and I'd have to buy an extra big and expensive one for it to look right.
