Is it possible....

To combine the complete air control circle jump physics of sv_airaccelerate 1 and the strafe jumping of sv_airaccelerate 0?

I don't know if it's possible to code, but I think it'd be pretty cool to have the physics of defrag or something in Q2, being able to circle around an edge completely and strafe jump when you stop circling.

To answer the OP, it's not possible to do with stock Quake2 because the player movement code is fixed (as in, immutable). You can't modify pmove without updating all of the Quake2 clients out there, or their client side prediction will be off, causing lots of view snaps and other unfortunate things. So while you could modify a server to have whatever movement you want, you'd sacrifice cl_predict 1. That'd be okay on a LAN; it'd feel a lot like NetQuake.

Q2W has both strafe jumping and air acceleration, and before our public beta on 4/1, the pmove code will be completely parameterized so that servers may modify the movement to their needs (even on a per-map basis), and that information will be sent to the client when negotiating a connection. We'll probably provide a few physics.cfg files that tune the movement to mimic other games, too (including stock Quake2, which we're a little different from).
