quake2 http downloading

hi i am having troubles with q2 http dling on my server
sometimes it will say ,, cannot write file or file not found then the next day it works
i have put all the maps in rotation on my website,, please help

What do the web server access & error logs show, on the occasions when the download fails?

sounds like the permissions or problems accessing the file (depends on the OS).  try setting 777 on a specific file and looking at the access to the file and make sure no process is accessing it.
