Jesse, why don't we make an informal ladder system, that tracks overall performance based on W/L ratio, KDR, and then measure "strength of schedule" based on quality wins vs. quality opponents?
There are definitely enough people who are active enough to make it happen, make it a less serious EDL?

Well, an informal ladder type system would have the best chance for success....but I mean, 8 team 2v2 tourneys and 12 man 1v1 mini cups can't even finish.......so the informality of this ladder would be like........very prominent to say the least haha. There's always the whole accept/decline thing... I guess I could impose something like, if you decline 2 challenges in a row(or are inactive to receive challenges for...... 2 weeks?) then you go down a spot.... idk.....
no doubt that a ladder is a good idea, and would depict a similar top list to what I'm suggesting. As far as getting to this point though(people being active enough / the ladder having enough data to be self-sufficient to produce the results we want)... I'm not so sure. But I am literally up to do anything that would encourage competition and be fun for everyone.
Personally, I've kind of lost my little spark/love for q2, why I haven't been playing much these days. So in current times, I'd predict a very loose involvement from like, me and dave in this thing, hypothetically. It would probably be fader/vae always challenging adrenaline(would impose a 2 week limit on consecutive duel challenges lol), as well as some fader v. vae action.
I do think that spots like... 5-12 could get competitive and would be fun to see play out. Someone like hunter would prob. be the guy trying to defend challenges from players like you, claire, etc.
Anyway, yeah, I'm down for whatever. Discuss.

on a slightly offtopic note, it sucks that you've lost your spark for it! I mean, I can't say shit cause I clearly have as well but I still hate the notion of the few remaining diamonds (yep just called you a diamond no homo) losing interest too.

I mean I go through spurts of a lot of playing and not playing at all, especially when good golf weather comes around, but I will always love this game and will always try to squeeze in a few hours a week.
I remember playing in a q3a ladder or maybe a ra2 ladder years ago, and we just had match ups with other teams that we had, like you said, a 2 week deadline to play.
There are definitely enough people around to have it be kind of fun, and it would be cool to have the duels count towards "something," even as minor as a ranking.
Doesn't have to be serious!
