Hey Folks,
I know there are a few bass palyers ont his board. I have the option of buying a new bass before an east coast tour. I'm very partial to my late 90's Fender American Standard J-bass. I'm looking into the same thing just different colors. Do you think I'm being closed-minded by picking up the same exact make and model? Ultimately the choice comes down to me, but I'd like to know your opinions, or some basses I should check out, that I might be skipping over.

I'm a "if it ain't broke - don't fix it" kind of guy. Two of the "same" basses would be good if you like what you have now. If you're touring, you have to imagine one bass going out of service at some point. It could fall off the stand or get knocked over and loose tune during a gig. Or a pot or a pickup could go bad. It would be easier to pick up a replacement guitar that you are comforatable with. If you can afford more than one, well that's another story.....
GL with it........

I have always toured with 2 basses - custom fender styled with a p-j EMG set up. they are four stringers but each has a hipshot drop D tuner...
go for it - you won't be sorry you brought two!

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
