whats this anti-cheat crap i dont cheat...

for some reason i cant play quake anymore on tastypleen (as of yesterday)...as soon as the game loads up... POP is disconnects and says i need some kind of anti cheat module.

did you guys change something or is it on my end and i tried loading that anti cheat module and i cant get it to work...im mad as hell cuz i cant be without quake and that anti cheat webpage makes no sense at all.

i loaded the r1q2, installed it and clicked on the quake icon and the same thing happens...POP.

Some people have been reporting that they have forced AC on the servers for no reason lately..
I dunno why its happening, but its possible that their IP just fell into a range that has it forced for some other player.
I bet the admins can explain it better, so I'll just leave you this for now:

It'll go faster if you tell them which server you are trying to connect to as well (railz, dm, mutant, xatrix etc..)

run that, and make sure you leave the part checked that says "anticheat" in the list of things to install.

point it at your c:\quake2 folder and it should put the newest r1q2, r1gl and anticheat where they need to be.

after that you'll run quake by using the "r1q2.exe" instead of the old "quake2.exe"


There's a config maker somewhere that will help you get it set up the way you like it too..

Yeah... your IP used to be 70.105.*.*, but it recently changed to 70.104.*.*, which does overlap a subnet range that has forced AC.

im really not mad im just confused, i've never had to use the cheat module but now i do? plus i cant get it to work..lol.

Your IP has moved back to 70.105.*.*, and thus is no longer within the forced-AC subnet.

i had this problem before, i just pm'ed console/quadz my ip, and the server i was trying to connect to, and they fixed it pretty fast =)
