Being kicked

I have been kicked from tastyspleen's rail server about 6 times today for "trying to flood the server," when I haven't even type a single message. I was wondering does anyone know what this is about? The only think I changed, if anyone is wondering, is.. I have added a center weapon alias. IF THIS sort of script is not allowed please tell me. (But as a side note: if it's not, it's Bullshit. not allowing such a script is like  not allowing me to have my weapon in my left hand because not all players play like that. BUNKNESS

ever used a zoom alias?? such as one that would make the mouse wheel zoom in and out slowly?? Ive been kicked for such an alias.  just an idea.  -Frobert

It's not something we ban on purpose.  The q2admin software on the servers responds to rapid userinfo broadcasts from the client as an attempt to flood the server.  Certain variables in your client, including "hand" are marked as type (U)serinfo, and every time you change those variables, your client broadcasts some or all of your userinfo data to the server.

Again, it's not something we ban on purpose... But rapidly changing your client's (U)serinfo cvars means the server receives all those change broacasts, and the q2admin software interprets it as a flood hack attempt and drops your connection.

YEAH, I sometimes abuse my zoom script, and zoom in and out very fast and then I flood it :

I regular rail match server would rule though.

oh yeah, forgot. The map 'koth10' on railz screws the whole game up, their is only one spawn point and the server becomes frantically helpless to spawn any new players besides the first one to load the map. We all have to wait for the next level to load. This problem map should be removed from the list.

I've removed the map for now.  But if anyone would like to volunteer to add spawns I'd be happy to re-add it.

Thanks for the prompt post. And - in regards to frustration, I have found and answer for script that are marked as type (U)serinfo. The way I am currently handing the problem is to have F11 and F8 bound to other CFG's. So, what I have written goes like this: Config.cfg is where the game writes, then I have Autoconfig.cfg set with all my changed vid settings and such. At the very end of that CFG I have included binds to two other CFG's, one is a cfg with everything contained inside of it, (that way I can play with my weapon/ hands normally without havinf to time them), and the other is setup, through an alias, to wait a given amount of time after so many chanegs in user info. Using this I have yet to be kicked....
