Since we don't log private messages, I can't verify the PM's in that condump. However, I am able to verify it was really bananapants (and not someone spoofing that playername) who made the comment "you stupid little boy".

So I will presume the condump is not faked.

lols @ this thread and "eumnx". The first words the child ever said to me (2 weeks or so ago?) were "bananapants is a faggot (bundle of sticks)". I had not been speaking to him, or about him. It is obvious that the boy wanted my attention. I gave it to him. Now he's unhappy that he got too much. I did not go crying to mommy each time I listened to his silly little abuses directed at me (and whether they came from PM or not is irrelevant). I don't contest being muted, and accept it as part of abusing the rules which I am fully aware of. At least nowadays the time it takes to mute people is measured in hours, and not months or years (wetarded). If I really wanted to, I could get around it quite trivially. However, out of respect for the admins who run this ship, I will accept my e-punishment :-) I was asked earlier if I was going to stop PM spamming. My answer was that I didn't know, and that was being honest. No arguments from me. I do find it funny that sometimes people want attention, then can't handle what they get. peaz

Some of the logs you posted are a bit irrelevant. 06-10 is completely unrelated to anything. "yes or ban" is something humorous that Goblin often says/said when during a vote. There are other Goblin-isms people say on the server, like "STINKS" (when jokingly referring to another player, or about a peson's time on a map, etc).

Without context of the rest of the logs from 07-01, there is no way at all to tell what was going on. Sometimes people say things meant humorously, and sometimes not. You have not made a case for anything with those 2 logs, in my opinion.

On 06-24, which is the only relevant day, I mentioned that Spl1nt3r was whiny, because many times when he wants a vote to pass, he says things "COME ON FUCKTARDS VOTE YES". So I stated that he was whiny (after having heard him many times in the past call everyone fucktards or something equally silly), which was before 13:22:42. Then eumnx chimed in, along with a few other circle jerkers like s0|s4tt3r (or whatever his name is) and Squirt. That was the reason for calling everyone "faggots (bundles of sticks)". Everyone who had something silly to say got a few things said back in return.

You can try to paint me as the bad guy, and based on the miniscule amount of logs you posted, it may even appear that way to anyone else who is not familiar with the full events of that day (as brief and silly as they were). However, there is a little more to the picture than what you've let on.

This is a bit nonsensical, as I really don't take this seriously. But I do feel the need to paint the parts of the picture that were left out in your post.

Let's just say I frequently deal with mutes and bans on players who have very dynamic IPs, so if someone claims they can "get around it trivially" I become interested if they can back that up.

Usually even the most determined folks don't have more than a couple ISP's to connect from... once those are blocked, they sometimes start making claims about how they could still use a proxy. But then, UDP proxies are not very common. And they also increase ping, so unlike web proxies where ping is fairly irrelevant, one would have to find a nearby UDP proxy... All less and less likely.

So, I hope that helps clarify why, if you still indeed believe you could get around the mute trivially, I'd be interested to see how that goes.

Yes, the smack-talk wasn't the issue, just the PM spam. The mute was temporary, to get your attention. The only reason it's not removed yet is you said you could get around it trivially, which sounded interesting.

haha.. in regards to the mute, if I had intended to attempt to evade the mute, I would've looked into a UDP proxy/tunnel to use with a remote server. I do understand that this would not be optimal for network performance reasons. I'm not aware of any other way to bypass a mute, other than when Wallfly isn't around. I've seen this on the jump server in the past where Wetarded could talk all he wanted as long as Wallfly wasn't there. He could also talk immediately after joining. It seems he only had a few seconds (if that) to do so, so he would squeeze in a "yo" now and again. That's all I've got in my bag of tricks. Nothing you haven't seen before or already thought of I'm sure.

Yeah... due to a misfeature of q2admin, the mute command doesn't work until a second or two after the client enters the game. So wallfly sits there spamming mute commands over rcon to q2admin until it takes effect.

Anyway... the mute on your isp/host is removed.
