I got the eraser bot that looks like the most up to date and best one there is.(Iguess IDK)
So this is what it wants me to do.

RUNNING THE GAME

To run the game, type the following from the DOS Shell
command line, whilst inside your Quake2 folder:

quake2 +set game eraser +map <mapname>
(please read below to find out which maps are supported)

I dont understand what this means. DO they mean go to my comp. open up the quake 2 file and then in another window open DOS and type this? Or do they mean run the game and hit ~ and then type this? Everything else I understand. This I dont understand what they want me to do. Could someone please explain?

They want you to open a command shell change to the quake2 directory and type that in.

Alot of miscommunication and misunderstanding going on here.

F. Sheep, the Eraser bot is not an aimbot or any form of cheat, which, by your reaction, is what i assume you understand it to be. Eraser bot is a program that creates AI to play against, similar to playing multiplayer, only they are AI instead of other online players.

ripper, QuazyWabbit is trying to help you in clear terms.

i can only relate from memory at this point, because i dont have a client near me, but i will give instructions as i remember using Eraser Bot. You should be able to just fire up Quake2, go to console and type "set game Eraser" then "map q2dm1" and use the console commands given in the readme from there to add and remove bots.

It can be done either way, typing the command in from a shell will lauch the game with those settings. Launching the Q2 game by clicking the icon will start the game in single-player, from there you have to drop the console, then type set game eraser map blahblah to launch the botted game. The plus signs are required for game commands on the command line but not within the game console.

To launch a command shell: click Start, Run..., then type cmd in the text box, enter.

Eraser bot is a game AI creature that provides an automated opponent but it is reportedly smarter than the monster AIs.

the eraser bots are slighty great for practicing,while the gladiator bots are definitley a challege up from eraser bots.

Both are reletively easy to configure,as there are a few front-end starters for these,meaning you can use the windows GUI to point and click your options,and easily setup a quick practice match.

These are gladiator bots,there pretty strong when you set them up to a higher skill,and can be very challenging at times,

if you decide to use gladiator ,may i suggest combining them with Tourney OSP mod,

OSP mod includes instructions for running gladiators bots with the TEAMPLAY and or free-for-all matches,aswell as 1v1's.

i have eraser ultra if u want mission pack items/weapons
bots don't use them

have you played that with the dynamic node generation enabled?
it helps to have the bots learn the maps and items/weapons from other bots and players gathering info,simply by playing a map over and over collecting items and such.

yes
when its the first time i load a map, i try to go everywhere picking up every item
it takes a while because it says i can't jump or something like that and i have to walk

cant jump? i think you mean,you should walk up stairs before you go back down stairs,to make sure the bots learn the layout of the map,check the read me !
