Dad had one of the first atari 2600's

my fav was a tank battle game,  earliest one on one shooter I can think of

Was it Battlezone? What struck me about the game was the awesome graphics  . I got the whole suite of Atari games converted to PC back in the late 90s. They were pretty good actually.

Many a fun game at my friend's house circa 1979.

I recall we had a great time exploiting a teleport bug at the corners of the screen where if you mashed the joystick around, your tank would teleport to the opposite corner of the map...

I had the Sear's brand version of the 2600...wow, come to think of it, ANY new entertainment technology always premiered at a Sear's Roebuck store back in the proverbial day.

I Had to go to a arcade to play video games in my time. and walk uphill bothways to school and home. Todays kids does have it easy but who said life was fair. the next generation will have it even easier time than today kids.

Born 1955. Entertainment, little brother, cardboard boxes, bikes on suburban streets, the woods across the street where we built tree forts. TV was black and white Zenith that emitted ozone, manual tuner, we were dad's remote control.
First video game: Pong.
First "computer": TRS-80 Model I, 4k bytes of RAM and a cassette tape recorder.
I still have Microsoft EDTASM on cassette.
I wrote my first microcontroller code on it in Z80 Assembler for an embedded Z80 repeater controller.
