that command sux unless your just an ffa player :/ it records from the moment you join a server til the end of a round, in opentdm that includes warm up, and i dont believe if you stop it that it starts recording when a match actually starts....

plus, kinda a waste of hdd space anyway if it did work for opentdm... you dont play EVERY round, so youd have a bunch of demos that arent yours and most likely arent even interesting lol

best way i have found to really go about recording demos in q2 is to do it manually with a one touch bind

Just installed the kicker and it won't save any settings I change in menu no matter what I do. Also certain skins like the male howitzer are now bright green as if the textures are missing.

the bright green skins are probably part of the bright skins .pak that comes with the kicker.

if the skin is totally missing you'd generally get a black model or a white diamond shape in it's place.

the config changes not sticking can be a couple of things:

1: the game saves console changes to config.cfg, while the config in the kicker is all in the autoexec.cfg which will never be saved over by the game. if you want to make permanent changes to the config, you'd have to alter the autoexec.cfg in an editor like notepad.

2: the config.cfg might be set to read-only

3: sometimes if you don't exit quake 2 via the console "quit" it doesn't save them (not sure on the conditions that cause this)

I was looking over the PAK files in the kicker... is your PAK2 the same as id's PAK1?  The file size is the same and when I open both paks the files names are all the same and so are the sizes... so why PAK2?

last i checked, the kicker uses a pkz pak for most of its assets, not the normal numbered pak files

Think you misunderstood..  id's PAK1.PAK filesize is 12,686KB, the zip installation of the q2 kicker has a PAK2.PAK file who's size is also 12,686KB.  I opened both and compared the internal files and they look identical.  Was this PAK2.PAK placed in the kicker by mistake or does it have a reason for being there?  Right now I've taken it out of the baseq2 dir all together and am using id's PAK2.Pak instead that is 44KB in size.
