Not to derail this at all. But just to consolidate in one place, is there a plan to keep things going?

Yes, absolutely.  MrsQuadz and I have finally managed to get the server in her name and billing and she will be paying for it and keeping it running indefinitely just like Quadz would have wanted.

We still have some issues to get sorted but we expect things to keep going.

Quadz' family and friends are indeed reading this thread and are buoyed by the condolences, well wishes, and appreciation for who Quadz was and what he was trying to do with Tastyspleen.

I'm one of Quadz' oldest friends and we had known and worked with each other for thirty-five years.  He and I met when I saw a for sale ad on a local BBS where he was selling an Amiga DOS handbook.  I contacted him and visited him at his house where I bought the manual and then sat down with him to talk all things Amiga.  We found that we shared a lot of common interests (computer programing, video games, guitars, music, etc.) and a long friendship blossomed.

Quadz was an incredible human being.  If you were worthy of his generosity, you would know it.  And you would be thankful for it.  He was generous with his time and knowledge and even was known to help a friend in need monetarily.

He was a gifted software engineer and I learned from him so many things about computers and software engineering.  He didn't much like school and at a young age of (I think) 16, he became an emancipated minor and got hired by a company in Edmonton, Canada where he worked on protocol testers (portable computers used to test telecommunications equipment) for somewhere around eight months whereupon he returned to the USA and started working at FTL Games on the Dungeon Master series of games.  Once I graduated from college, he recommended that they hire me to work there as well and so I did.  We worked together at several more companies, with either him getting me a job or me getting him a job.  It was great fun and very rewarding to work with him and we worked so well together.

Quadz was also an incredibly good musician, playing guitar, bass, and some drums.  He played in a couple of local San Diego bands and their music was pretty good.  I think he could have made a career of it.  Have a look at this video of him playing Yngwie Malmsteen's "Far Beyond the Sun":

And here he is playing bass (his own composition):

Eighteen years ago, Quadz married a great woman and they were good for each other.  They lived a nice life together and were looking forward to an even longer life together.  His wife wanted to post here and tried to join the forum, but new account activation is approved only by Quadz and as such as things are she cannot post here.

We are saddened by the loss of Quadz, devastated, frankly.  And we want his legacy to live on.  We think he would have wanted it this way.  Unfortunately, Quadz did not leave us the keys to the castle so it may be difficult to get the billing for the server to be made in his wife's name and to get the domain name registry switched to her ownership but we will attempt to do so, likely next week.  What we need help with is the day-to-day running of the site.  Is there any among you that can help in this regard?  If so, PM me.

Rest in Peace, Quadz, my best friend.  I miss you so.
