Would it be possible to create Action quake it's very own section to this forum? That way it could be noticed better. Many Quake players probably don't even know what AQ mod is.

There we could add all necessary information on how to play. These single threads goes unnoticed and vanishes very soon.

There is something wrong with some of the maps you added on list. Versions were different and server refused to connect until i erased my existing maps from my /map folder and let it download from the FFA server. This annoyance probably happens again when those maps are played in other servers where i have downloaded them earlier.

Has anyone else had these problems?

Nicely done    Now it's playable. There also could be weapon spawns on a map for extra ammo.

Invite does not work.

Greetings.

This new system that gives no weapons (except pistol and knife) to start with is awful. Now you just have to run around finding weapons and the ones with good knowledge of the map knows where to find them all. Previous one with all the weapons at once was not so good either.

I suggest that you get to pick your weapon and item of choice before spawning and collect the rest on the way. Solid ten minute round time and no fraglimit would be improvement also.

And FYI. As many seem to be still unaware of this new Java based AQ2 and Q2 client. There is new updated client available that works if you have Java installed in your system (Oracle and Icedtea is known to work). It works on Linux, Mac and windows machines. It searches and lists all the servers in the world for AQ2 and on Q2.

You can change between AQ2 and Q2 by disconnecting server and giving these commands to console:
game action
game action=0

Quake folder can then be found in Linux hidden under your home folder: /home/.q2online/
There you can add your maps and any other crap you need to enhance your gaming experience.
