Thanks for the help .
I am presently looking into this.
It looks like  MacintoshHD/applications/QuakeII.app/contents/macos/baseq2 is the dir. There is no Quake2 folder so that may be the problem.I'm a newb at terminal so this may take a bit......

Trouble Shooting / Client Can't find maps
« on: March 02, 2013, 03:16:22 PM »
Hi,
I'm new to this forum ,but not new to Quake.
I Just started getting back into it after about 10 years off.
I have been playing it on my Mac using an older client that ends up looking like the Q2 I used to play on My Win box years ago.
I was recently informed that the best way to do it is to use a more modern client , so I started using the aprq2 based client from jdolan.
This works and looks way better except for one thing.......I cant get it to find the custom maps.
I have a "baseq2"  folder with all the maps , textures, etc in it , but I haven't been able to get the client to find it . I can play single player,or the orig. DM maps no prob.
Any ideas? :help:
