/dev/random / Re: Play Painkiller multiplayer free
« on: March 20, 2012, 11:44:49 AM »not sure if quadz is gonna be happy about this being posted, everyone knows about it but technically a cd key generator isnt a legal solution...
Here's a discussion about that from earlier this evening:
[21:49:29] <THRESHER> I have a PK install file for linux and whatnot
[21:49:39] <THRESHER> I ran the servers that jehar was casting on for Painkiller
[21:50:46] <quadz> ok ... i looked at the http://justplay.tourney.cc/pages/get-painkiller-lite/ website this evening... a little concerned/puzzled by the "generate cd-key" part
[21:51:08] <THRESHER> you don't need a cd key to run a server
[21:51:19] <THRESHER> also, developers gave us that link lol
[...]
[22:00:53] <quadz> the game developers directly referred you to a cd-key gen site?
[22:01:02] <THRESHER> lol yep
[22:01:41] <THRESHER> I bought the game in a store, had no cd key in it
[22:04:05] <quadz> i'm not familar with the game, apart from catching it one night on a tastycast ... appears to be between $5 and $10 on steam, depending on the release year
[22:04:17] <THRESHER> yeah
[22:04:31] <THRESHER> the pk lite install is just the mplay version
[22:04:34] <THRESHER> based off of the demo
[22:04:46] <quadz> ah
That's all the info I have, as yet...
I'm pretty sure that site is legal because its run by cd projekt red who was the publisher of the game. It's not some random 3rd party site.
