I probably should have replied to this late yesterday but martini time was calling.

It was unclear at first if dervish was referring to AcmeCTF file checks or Tastyspleen file checks as we don't currently use the same hashes. I have no problem cooperating on hashes if that would help alleviate concerns....some files used on TS do not pass our checks.

Our hashes are no doubt more limited and do not include many of yours so I was under the impression the complaint was Beaver not passing our checks...which I am well aware of but I have yet to see anything of what we consider a "cheatable" nature in his models, etc.

Granted, we haven't reviewed his files because they haven't been submitted for review and added if valid. I have no problem adding hashes for different files as long as they do not give an advantage in game but I'm not going to waste my time on daily changes just because someone wants to "see what it looks like".

We are AC optional, except for IPs or subnets forced AC due to previous history or strong suspicion, and have not had any problem with Beaver attempting any cheats. If he did, he would be either forced AC on our servers or summarily banned depending on the offense.

Glad to see this is somewhat sorted out now.

No. Anticheat is optional on all our servers....unless you are on a subnet where it's required due to previous cheat attempts.  If that is the case contact me and we can go from there.

Win8 and ac do not play well together so make sure you don't have anticheat.dll lurking in your Q2 directory. If you can't connect after removing it reboot and try again, even on different server ports. If you still can't connect....contact me, preferably thru acmectf.com.

Correct.....IIS is not open source and does not use OpenSSL......IIS has enough vulnerabilities as it is.

Basically.....if you use TLS on OpenSSL (https webservers; services running TLS enabled daemons like SMTP/POP/IMAP) you most likely have to think about doing some necessary patching and key re-generating.

No, we are all anticheat optional on all servers now.....unless you are caught in a forced ac subnet. If that's the case you can contact me thru acmectf.com for possible remedy or explanation.

Yes, we may be considered a bit picky on some pak stuff unless you are using a standard pak or one that has been verified by us. That wouldn't keep you from playing....would only show list of bad files to server. Our download page has all paks that are verified. Again...you know where to contact me if it causes you anguish.

I have had my connection rejected also....it appears to happen randomly and can be fixed by different means...(randomly, again...ymmv). Close Q2, wait for a map change and connect, connect to another port on our server and then to port you intended, worst case reboot........PITA, I know. Haven't found what causes it due to the inconsistency. Any ideas, please let me know.

No worries from me. I'm basically retired from playing...except on rare occasion where I feel like making a complete fool of myself....but still run ACMECTF.com servers so doubt there is any problem....unless you pee on the rug.

Also that cartman guy is on my CTF team and we're suppose to play a couple of matches tonight. We'll see if AC still works for him on Win8 today, I guess.   

It's very unstable.....works one time and not the next. 

I had to give him an ac exception for the cup so if he ends up with high score, let me know 'cause something is definitely fishy!

OMG!!! OMFG!!!!  I almost peed myself when I got the news! Amazing, simply amazing! I had no idea that all the hard work over the years finally paid off! Maybe I should have prepared an acceptance speech....no sir, not gonna pull a Brando and send Sacheen Littlefeather to accept this one!

I would like to thank the academy and all the people that voted for me and all the little people..there were munchkins involved, right?...and, most importantly, a special shout out to the voices in my head, without which I could not make it thru the day. Thank you all!
