I don't have stats any older than that. I had this because I knew they were going to close their doors so I made a complete copy of the website. I wanted to be able to have something to remember.. =)

Bigwig, there are some players you forgot =) I'm not saying if these people were good or bad...

I played there quite a bit - it was fun for a while.  Great custom map rotation and good players.

Draconian admins made me quit the place.  They got carried away with some grandiose ideas of "fairness" so I bailed.

"Don't do this, don't do that, this is correct, this is not, you can frag this way, but you are not permitted to frag that way, you might have spammed grenades too much, like playing agains a panel of quake lawyers, blah blah blah . . . bye guys . . ."

I'm sad it died, but I think that it may have been partly suicide.

I don't know where you got this from but I never experienced this there. I used to play Quake II at GVN all the time. I can tell you that this will not happen at eriegames. We have no strict rules like this.

The only thing that would bother me is if people get a ton of cheap kills where people don't have any weapon. I try to let people get a weapon before I go after them. If they shoot at me they're fair game.

I fixed that. The problem was we ended up eliminating a map and didn't remove it from the server map rotation so it couldn't find it. This caused it to stay on the same map and not move on.

Game on!

The new eriegames.net Quake 2 instagib server is up and running. I welcome you all to hop in and try it out. It is an exact replica of the former games.velocity.net (GVN) Quake 2 server that we all love and miss.

The address is eriegames.net:27910 (66.211.213.6:27910).

The maps on this server are all classics from GVN.

Quoted from the eriegames.net site:

We now have a Quake II server running at Eriegames! If any of you are interested in playing the server is up at eriegames.net:27910. The current map rotation is as follows: q2dm1 q2dm3 q2dm5 q2dm8 gibem VEN_DM2 tltf 4u2map7b fact3 onerail2 paradm4 bsol colour evilq2dm fact0 match1 rene51 simple. We are trying to focus on classic maps that everyone enjoyed from the GVN days.

This server runs the infamous Dalemod. Let me give you an introduction to this. Its main feature is the instagib rail. For those of you who don

I'm sure everyone remembers me from the GVN server. We're in the process of finding all the old GVN regulars and hopefully they will play Quake II again. Our server was just started and yes it is home of the infamous Dalemod, featuring the instagib railgun. It is even hosted at the same datacenter as GVN was.

We are going to run all of the classic GVN maps. At the moment we're working on setting up stats, adding new (classic GVN) maps, anti-cheat.

Col Kurtz was the biggest complainer lol, that was funny. I had almost forgotten about that name.
