3840 /2160 = 1.7777 (your monitor's multiplier for the x-y ratio)
1920 /1080 = 1.7777
1280x720 = 1.7777

1024 /768 = 1.3333
800 /600 = 1.3333

3840x2160 and 1920x1080 both have the same ratio, so at least 1920x1080 should run with no problems and fill the screen without distortion.

Otherwise known as 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios, respectively. :)

Great. They can explain why I should completely disregard the fact that for the last 14 years I've known that DeathInc was the leader of KEA's Q2 division.

Even if he was leader over the Q3 division, he was never leader of anything KEA had to do with Quake2. And the fact that he'd step in and let some newbie dork like beaver take over shit and start shamelessly whoring out the clan to absolutely anyone who joins his discord is a great example of why they don't deserve to be considered anything more than a fake clan hijacked by kids.

edit: yeah, and as I'm typing, of course he doesn't answer that question. It's cool though. Whore your clan if you wanna. It's still fake.

You didn't recruit slugz, DeathInc did. Period.

I do not ever recall our discord adding {KEA} tags automatically to people who joined the server, it's a role that gets manually added.

LOL. YEAH. I know. You're WILLINGLY INTENTIONALLY and MANUALLY making pretty much everyone who joins the thing into a KEA member with a KEA tag.
I wasn't just the leader of the Q3 division when the clan was given to me but hey keep holding onto that thought process... we could have a nice discussion or you could keep turning it into more of a shit show...

You should talk to deathinc because he wasn't alone in recruiting slugz... back in those days to get in it was a 2v1 challenge. You sure act like you know a lot about {KEA} but seem to know so little...

No, not everyone gets a {KEA} tag on our discord. Have people been giving the tag by accident before? yes... There are several people in our discord that don't have a tag, ya know why? Because they are not in the clan...

Okay. Remember that you said that though. We'll get back to it later.

@qwazy does this site also run  off of that same machine or is it run by a different entity? may be a silly question but i thought id ask you anyways being that you are fairly tech savvy

It's all run off the same machine.

Quadz was also an incredibly good musician, playing guitar, bass, and some drums.  He played in a couple of local San Diego bands and their music was pretty good.  I think he could have made a career of it.  Have a look at this video of him playing Yngwie Malmsteen's "Far Beyond the Sun":

http://cila-search.net/~quadz/music/guitar_practice/MVI_8806-090810-fbts-render.mp4

And here he is playing bass (his own composition):

http://cila-search.net/~quadz/music/bass_practice/MVI_4370-slap-riffs-071214-clip.mp4

I remembered seeing pics he posted somewhere around here of himself playing bass in his younger years, but I don't think this was the exact picture I saw. Perhaps theres more around here somewhere. Anyways, spotted this post earlier.

Here are pics of me 13 years ago and 3 years ago... Notice the incredible durability of that T-shirt.  Sadly, I lost it when I last moved.  ;D

Regards,

Used to talk about gear with him in the music section. He was definitely a better musician than me. Unlike me, he actually seemed to care about learning new things in music (like when he shared that video of himself playing Malmsteen), whereas for the longest time I've been lazily content to play the same tired old 12 bar blues based crap for the last 10 years.

BTW, if anyone has any of the music he did with any of his bands, I'd love to hear it.

That was per year, but it was about a decade ago. Here recently he was paying a good bit less.

No worries. I think Jehar and others have the know how to keep things running, and it looks like there's probably enough people willing to chip in and help if it's needed.

I suppose the prices were higher back when it was first initiated and it was a better spec machine back in the day. I know he was overpaying for the old one and this one was a great improvement in performance.

It would have been selected 4 or 5 years ago I believe. Spec sheet on the E5-2630 v4 says 10 cores, 20 threads so lets end the speculation.

Etc. up to 11. It enumerates CPU 0 thru 11 so I don't know WTF that means if it's a 10 core.

By today's standards it's a medium capability processor. Personally, I used to be an Intel guy but now I have experienced a 16 core Ryzen 9 and would not go back to Intel.

Given its uptime at 786 days, I'd have to say it was a good choice of vendor because they are not foisting updates on it and it was self-managed by quadz. It's not shared with anyone and it's a real box not a virtual one.

As for downsizing or paring down the server count, that will be up to the next owner.
To quote quadz, "I can run 100 empty servers as easily as 10." or words to that effect.
