They can explain why I should completely disregard the fact that for the last 14 years I've known that DeathInc was the leader of KEA's Q2 division.I wasn't just the leader of the Q3 division when the clan was given to me but hey keep holding onto that thought process... we could have a nice discussion or you could keep turning it into more of a shit show... Okay. Remember that you said that though. We'll get back to it later.

Quadz was also an incredibly good musician, playing guitar, bass, and some drums. He played in a couple of local San Diego bands and their music was pretty good. I think he could have made a career of it. Have a look at this video of him playing Yngwie Malmsteen's "Far Beyond the Sun": I remembered seeing pics he posted somewhere around here of himself playing bass in his younger years, but I don't think this was the exact picture I saw. Perhaps theres more around here somewhere. Anyways, spotted this post earlier. Here are pics of me 13 years ago and 3 years ago... Notice the incredible durability of that T-shirt. Sadly, I lost it when I last moved. Used to talk about gear with him in the music section. He was definitely a better musician than me. Unlike me, he actually seemed to care about learning new things in music (like when he shared that video of himself playing Malmsteen), whereas for the longest time I've been lazily content to play the same tired old 12 bar blues based crap for the last 10 years. BTW, if anyone has any of the music he did with any of his bands, I'd love to hear it.

That was per year, but it was about a decade ago. Here recently he was paying a good bit less.
No worries. I think Jehar and others have the know how to keep things running, and it looks like there's probably enough people willing to chip in and help if it's needed.

I suppose the prices were higher back when it was first initiated and it was a better spec machine back in the day. I know he was overpaying for the old one and this one was a great improvement in performance.
It would have been selected 4 or 5 years ago I believe. Spec sheet on the E5-2630 v4 says 10 cores, 20 threads so lets end the speculation. cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 79 model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2630 v4 @ 2.20GHz stepping : 1 microcode : 0xb00001b cpu MHz : 1200.170 cache size : 25600 KB physical id : 0 siblings : 20 core id : 0 cpu cores : 10 apicid : 0 initial apicid : 0 fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 20 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe syscall nx pdpe1gb rdtscp lm constant_tsc arch_perfmon pebs bts rep_good nopl xtopology nonstop_tsc aperfmperf pni pclmulqdq dtes64 monitor ds_cpl vmx smx est tm2 ssse3 sdbg fma cx16 xtpr pdcm pcid dca sse4_1 sse4_2 x2apic movbe popcnt tsc_deadline_timer aes xsave avx f16c rdrand lahf_lm abm 3dnowprefetch epb invpcid_single kaiser tpr_shadow vnmi flexpriority ept vpid fsgsbase tsc_adjust bmi1 hle avx2 smep bmi2 erms invpcid rtm cqm rdseed adx smap intel_pt xsaveopt cqm_llc cqm_occup_llc cqm_mbm_total cqm_mbm_local dtherm ida arat pln pts hwp bugs : cpu_meltdown spectre_v1 spectre_v2 spec_store_bypass l1tf mds bogomips : 4399.78 clflush size : 64 cache_alignment : 64 address sizes : 46 bits physical, 48 bits virtual power management: Etc. up to 11. It enumerates CPU 0 thru 11 so I don't know WTF that means if it's a 10 core. By today's standards it's a medium capability processor. Personally, I used to be an Intel guy but now I have experienced a 16 core Ryzen 9 and would not go back to Intel. Given its uptime at 786 days, I'd have to say it was a good choice of vendor because they are not foisting updates on it and it was self-managed by quadz. It's not shared with anyone and it's a real box not a virtual one. As for downsizing or paring down the server count, that will be up to the next owner. To quote quadz, "I can run 100 empty servers as easily as 10." or words to that effect.
