This song isn't obscure. It's Daft Punk. I'm more interested in people's opinion on this girl's dancing to it. I think she's French and had a bit of internet fame when her dance moves to different songs were posted on Youtube.

So, here are few, the band??, I haven't seen listed here.  Good stuff.  We all know the basics.  Yet many, don't know the real goodness.  I think Recyled will feel it....

That's not a music video, nor is it that obscure, but good stuff nonetheless

Hah...that takes me back. One of my favs back then was "careful with that axe, Eugene". Very spacy and ethereal. Pink Floyd has such a rich legacy of varied music. I remeber seeing their Pompeii concert at the big theatre. Very powerful...

Pink Floyd are my favorite band, I never got the chance to see them live though. Wish You Were Here is my favorite album from them, no matter how underrated it is compared to DSOTM and the Wall. What's even worse is that Syd Barrett (as much as I didn't like his role in the band that much) and Rick Wright are both dead... :raincloud:

Ok, the video for this song is really childish, I'm sorry... I tried searching the web but couldn't find anything better than the Thomas the Tank engine videos :-[ Just screw the video and listen to the song, it's a cut from Ringo Starr in his later years

I woke up early as hell this morning and was flipping through the channels when I stopped on a show called RockFest on VH1 Classics. They played some Tom Petty, The Clash, Pretenders, Rush, normal shit you'd expect. And then....

...my eyes were witness to possibly THE GAYEST display of effeminate dude-dancing I have ever seen in my life. This is damn near uncomfortable to watch, yet worthy of much ROFLdom.

Even Richard Simmons wouldn't have the brass cajones to wear the pink tank top thingy he puts on after he rips the first shirt off.

That particular video was rated one of the worst from the 80's - back in the 80's. It's not that it was accepted as part of the mix from that era. We knew it was bad back then and it's still bad now. There was a lot of pretentious crap (film-wise) back then from mainstream people making commercials, who figured they could make music videos too. I didn't care. I was interested in the music and if the song was good. Ultimately that's what it's for.

Typically back then a bad video with a good song would do nothing to hurt the sale of that particular song. Well-done videos would have a minor effect to boost sales of average songs. Duran Duran material comes to mind. But AC/DC or Def Leppard could issue any half-assed video and still sell out arenas strictly on the quality of their music.

And I thought the 80's had a huge variety of great music from everywhere in the world. There's hardly anything worth buying these days.

One instrument I miss from today's music is the Hammond B3 organ. Lots of it around in the 60's and 70's. mostly playing rock and blues. One of my fav guys was Lee Michaels. Here's a cut from 1969 called "Tell Me How Do You Feel". Essentially recorded live in the studio, there's just him and his drummer Frosty. Pretty tight playing though. When they performed live they were LOUD. The bass parts were done by foot pedals on the B3. It was funny to see people lifted out of their seats when he hit the first chord - just by the sheer volume. No dust left in the rafters after they finished.

Also a second clip from some TV show appearance at the time.

Here's a song from the "2-hit wonder" group Pilot. Three of the four members were heavy contributors to the Alan Parsons project. It's very catchy, and almost guaranteed to get stuck in your head:

Horrible video, but a decent song.

The Fixx - One Thing Leads To Another:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIOKIB2Cilg

I don't ever remember seeing this video on MTV back in the 80's, but then again I was probably 3 or 4 when this album came out. I'm primarily a metal fan, but I definitely love The Police.

The Police - Synchronicity II:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbQd3jxth5k

Since I'm on Sting, this is one of my favorite songs he's ever done. This isn't the actual video for the song, someone used scenes from the movie The Professional, which I think may feature this song. If you've ever heard the song Love In Ya Mouth by Kilo Ali, you'll recognize the tune.

Sting - Shape Of My Heart:

Not sure how much airplay Feist gets down in the States but she is well known in Canada. Here's one cut from her (she wrote it) that is smooth, sexy and a bit melancholy.

The only song I heard from Feist was 1234, and thought "that was horrible" but I guess this song's okay. Speaking of international videos, here's one from Okean Elzy (Elise's Ocean) a band from the country I lived in long ago before I came to the U.S, Ukraine. It's called "Kvitka" (meaning flower):
