lol, nah! you know what's 'fail'? Coming here with a story like this and looking for help from people online. He should talk to family or friends in person and ask them for advise instead.

Not for nothin'... but I gotta agree with Panjoo. This a forum about Quake2. What would lead ANYONE to believe that anyone around here is qualified to tell someone what they should do about an important life decision? Might as well pick a number out of the phone book at random, it would be equally as appropriate and would probably yield the same advice. Ask close personal friends, ask your parents or some other family member, ask ANYONE who has known you in real life for longer than a week. While much of the advice given out so far I'd have to say is good advice, he could figure out the same things all by himself if he'd only look objectively at the situation. Sure, the situation sucks, (and sorry if I sound like a total prick) but it's not anyone's fault around here.  

But since you asked for advice, I'll give you the best advice anyone could ever give you... don't listen to the advice of others unless they are reasonably credible. It's your own life to live and others are likely to give you advice based on their own feelings and prejudices which may not be your own. Follow no advice but your own.

well bro, she seems to have a pattern of doing this to guys from what you've outlined.

Even if she were to get back with you after this, odds are she'd ditch you at a later date to go be with some other dude, just like she did to him and then to you before. You'd end up hurt even more than you are now, when you could have avoided it.

I'd say cut her off and let her stay with the guy and learn the hard way that guys who hit their women are douches.
Then depending on your relative size and build and how much you dislike douchebags, you should slap the shit out of your doped-out buddy so he can feel what it's like to get manhandled and be helpless to stop it.
