Having a look around it now.  I've been looking forward to this release

I love the easy manipulation of tabs.  This is the most impressive feature for me so far.

The 'Inspect Element' option is interesting.  Glad they included an 'Incognito' mode too, haha!

It apparently has excellent error handling, e.g. If one tab crashes it crashes independantly from the rest of the browser.  Hmm.  I use Firefox 2 (used FF3 for a day, hated it, uninstalled and went back to 2 - that's a different story) and IE (for the missus) and they never crash, so hard to test this feature.

Will be interesting to see how this browser stands up after half the world's hackers get their teeth into it.

First impressions:  Looks good.  Good functionality.  I could get used to it.  Gonna wait to see how it's security pans out before I make it my default.

Edit:  Just noticed it's put a taskbar shortcut in that looks very similar to the WMP shortcut.  I can see this creating confusion.  Maybe there's an alternative?

Couple problems I'm having with it.

Now I noticed each tab is it's own process. That's good for crashes but bad for memory use. If you're a nut about your processes then you'll go crazy with this cause one tab with no site loaded is about 20k, a crazy surfer that uses 30+ tabs at once might run into a problem.

It doesn't use it's own "Internet Options"

Internet Options are shared with IE7. For instance if you want to configure a proxy then it will bring up IE7 Internet Options to do so... I tried this but couldn't get a SOCK v5 proxy to work with the browser. So that's kind of a downer... I hope they add independent Options soon.

not sure why we need yet another browser, seems silly to me

I'm not really liking the fact that each tab is its own process. i've got 3 tabs going right now, sometimes more.  i've looked for a decent browser that doesn't use up much memory before.. but i usually end up going back to firefox, for one reason or another..

If they made it look like I.E or Firefox I'd probably use Chrome.

still using I.E because it's a little quicker to start up

Finally tried it because a friend said that it was pretty lightweight. Turns out it is. Not quite as configurable as I would like, but overall running at less than half the memory that Firefox does out of the box, it's definitely my new no hassle solution to web browsing.

And see, Google was even nice enough to populate Yahoo, Ask.com, AOL, and Windows Live into their embedded search options.
