Food of the gods.
I'm cooking some in my oven and it smells glorious.
What's you favorite bacon related story?
Myself, it was early one morning and my dad's wife had prepared us all breakfast. When I sat down I thought I was still dreaming because she had made bacon cups for our scrambled eggs. Instant hit...I've been meaning to make them for my fiance. They are really neat. You take a muffin tray and flip it. Wrap the bottom of the cups with foil and arrange your bacon to wrap around that and cook it in the oven. They hold their shape remarkably well and give a great WOW factor to breakfast.

Nice. Can't eat fried or scrambled eggs without bacon.
Bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwich.
Split large jalopena peppers, clean the insides, fill with cream cheese, wrap with thin sliced bacon and bake in oven.
Chicken breat wrapped in bacon and grilled.
Bacon hamburger.
Bacon takes the wild liver taste out of dark meated wild fowl when used as a wrap.
Bacon bits on salad.
Just a few that come to mind.

Strangely, we'll have bacon but sometimes are missing other things for breakfast (darn kids...
). Then I start to get creative. Bacon, Eggs, Hot Pepper Cheese on a burger bun, toast, bagel (classic), english muffin, chopped in a left over taco shell... But I don't stop there with the magical animal knows as "pig." Canadian bacon is a week long thing with me when we get a ham.

Lol I always wondered why it's tagged as Canadian Bacon.
I love the more contemporary version, the strip. This morning I woke up and tried to make the bacon cups..it held it's form but was over cooked.
Next time I'll adjust my cooking times and fill them with scrambled eggs w/ diced green onion, sour cream and a little touch of southwest salsa.
NOM NOM NOM!!!!!

not a clue, i've just always called ham steaks that. My grandparents, from Ontario & Quebec, always called it Canadian Bacon too.
Please post the recepie for the bacon cups. That sounds really really good & may want to make some before QuakeCon.

when I go dove hunting, I usually bring a couple of packs of really thick bacon strips to wrap around the dove breasts before they hit the little weber BBQ. Works pretty well for duck too.. (just cut the breasts/thighs into duck-nuggets of reasonable size)
Last year I tried a couple with a jalapeno slice wrapped onto the dove breast with bacon, and a little square of cheese over the lot when it was just about done.
Food of the Gods INDEED.
Bacon makes everything better.

I guess I'm a freak. Not a vegetarian, but not a fan of bacon.
