That reminds me.

The hook on the current freeze server will only hook players. Is this a server variable that is just switched off? All of the games I played in the past had a fully functional hook. (In fact you could even spawn 2 hooks. 1 for movement and the other for hooking enemies)

Here is a suggestion for client side configs.

When you are using the hook for stuffing enemies, instead of movement, this is the better set up. It gives you more freedom for baiting and making a quick steal of a frozen enemy. It also helps for lowering a teamate into lava to thaw them quicker.

X7: Yes, the URL was for gibstats logging, no longer supported on PQ. I am coding the gibstats logging out of the mod with a compile-time switch to preserve the original code.

peewee_RotA: The server cvar for turning on the general hooking is grapple_wall. Default is 1, it is set to zero somewhere in the freeze.cfg on the TS server.

Yeah, I thought the ctf skins were available on the server. I know that I have some new male/ctf_r in my baseq2 folder that I downloaded from vanilla or mutant at one point. Can we just get some ctf_r and ctf_b skins placed into that folder for people that are auto downloading?

There is also an option to have green and yellow teams in freeze but I doubt this option will ever be used.

I enjoyed it. My binds were all messed up but that's fixable. I managed to get the movement keys ok but some others had me all dumfuzzled. Spectating was fun but I miss chase mode.

Here is updated binary for Linux and Windows servers. This takes out the Gibstats logging code. Comment out the sl_* cvar settings in the freeze.cfg to delete them from the server as they are not used. This will prevent unnecessary disk usage as the game won't write anymore freeze.log or attempt to access the unsupported gibstats site.

The new_freeze189.tar.gz has been updated with the new sources per link above. The project is unified Windows/Linux source and will also compile in Xcode.

If you updated your game with the 3.20+CTF update, you should have the skins. They would be found in the pak0.pak file in "c:/quake2/ctf". You'll need a pak editing program like PakScape to open it up and browse.
Just copy these files from that pak file:
"/players/male/ctf_r.pcx"
"/players/male/ctf_r_i.pcx"
"/players/male/ctf_b.pcx"
"/players/male/ctf_b_i.pcx"
Then paste these 4 files in "c:/quake2/baseq2/players/male/" and you're good to go.

I tried making some skins at one point last night, but it didn't work too well. Even though I applied the Quake2 palette during conversion, they always came out as black.

when I made skins I needed to put the upper left most pixel as black for my skins to work.

I just edited the flak and recon skins using part of the blue and red that I picked with MSPaint to color the entire skin one color of blue or red. I noticed there was one square of alpha (that pinkish color) in the upper left. I figured that might've had something to do with it, but I didn't feel like wasting anymore time trying to figure it out.

I can't remember the name or filename but It's a tropical looking theme with an underground base, a shuttle bay, a helicopter pad (with helicopter), and a few waterfalls with passages behind them. It's been a common freeze tag map since the beginning due to it's complex nature.

The map I'm describing is outpost.bsp

Such a simple map name. I should have thought of it earlier.
