Don't forget that being broke and in trouble with the IRS has been a powerful motivator in the past. True or not, it's the reason why the original Amityville horror book was written. And don't forget about Mike Carr who confessed to killing Jean Bonet Ramsey just to avoid tibeten jail. (or whatever strict court system he was caught molesting children in at the time) So it's not unprecidented to have someone like that jump on a bandwagon for his own benifit.

In fact keeping the Amityville horror in mind, the "devil made me do it" story behind the former owners of the house has a similar motive. The boy who shot up his own family in that house never claimed insanity until he was given a book deal.

So yes, O.J. probably did it, but I don't think there's any new true information in this book.
