I planned on going last year, and fell thru last minute, maybe this year I will plan to not go and make it!

Well, quake 3 source code (id tech 3) was announced on qcon 2005 and released the day after. on august 20th of 2005. Look it up. So id tech 4 could be announced this qcon. Besides, no one's using id tech 4, it's been id's least successful engine, compared specially to quake3.
