I like pic #2 the best. The one in #4 looks like it could scratch a tabletob with those feet.

Hehe, I still use my old Kmart foldable board with plastic pieces that I got back in the late 80's. Used it through college when I was on the chess team.

As much as I love the varity of that orange and black pic #2 set, nothing beats the classic marble set (#4). Simple and sleek. I grew up playing on a marble set and every other set seemed to be lacking. (Just remember that marble tends to make bisops and pawns look extremely similar, which is frustrating whan what appeared to be a pawn at first glance flys accross the board to take your rook.)

In retrospect #2 appears to be marble, however I can't tell that the pices are as well based on that picture. I prefer the pieces on #4 because they definitly have the appropriate finishe to say marble.

In my opinion the slimmer pieces in #3 and #4 look best (I dont like the bulky pieces). But the board in #4 seems a bit too shiney and the 'white' pieces almost match the 'white' squares. The board in #3 has more neutral, tranquil colors which are easier on the eyes.

#3, thats a real slick board.

Both of mine are all glass, been wanting to upgrade but dont have the spare $$$.
