Does this little "gears" demo run in your browser?
I'd be interested in knowing, for example: - What OS and browser you are using?
- Did the gears demo work for you? (You should be able to click and drag with the mouse to change the camera angle.)
- Did you have to install anything to get it to work?
- If so, how long did it take to perform the installations? Was it fairly painless, or a hassle?

I don't know who all here is a developer, but do you think you could add a "Programming" section for us newbs so we can ask questions about general quake 2 codeing.
I hope the OpenGL demo will work on win2k! Installing the JRE should be harmless, if you want to give it a try. (My wife's comp runs win2k also, I'll try that later this evening.)
I agree with adding a 'tech junkie' section or whatever you feel the need to call it.

Tried it in Firefox and IE6.Oddly, on this old wik2k system which is like a Pentium III or something, in IE6 the gears took practically 0% CPU, whereas in Firefox it took almost 100% CPU...
