I posted about this same problem. Even posted the same type of pic of the plasma beam. Can't remember if it was here though and I can't seem to find it, but I did get some answers.I'll keep looking.
I'm so excited! I saw the two threads, both in TastySpleen Forums and in R1CH Forums. But I didn't understand how to fix it, by the posts they have written it seems that they have managed to fix it. Can I ask, please, someone tell me how to fix it? I want to play Rogue! EDIT: From what I saw the bug only occurs when I use R1Q2. When I use the standard client (quake2.exe) the error isn't there, the Plasma Beam fires fine, but I haven't yet tested if the 'ERROR: Bad modeltype' occurs. But I like using R1Q2 and I would like to fix it! If I knew how...EDIT #2: BTW: Where can I download the latest version of R1Q2? Mine is: r1q2 b6377. That's what it says in the console.EDIT #3: I think I got it fixed. I installed the latest version of R1Q2 successfully with the R1Q2 Updater, and the Plasma Beam fires fine now. My version of R1Q2 now is r1q2 b7587. I'm posting a screenshot. I think I finally got it fixed, but I want to play Rogue Deathmatch with somebody in order to test it!
Yeah, just tested it! Played about 10 games with Razor and others! It didn't crash! This thing has to be remembered in order to help other R1Q2 users. Yeah, now I have a R1Q2 Updater and I'll check it every month! Lots of interesting matches occured!By the way, here is a screenshot (when I still had the bug) how the Plasma Beam can be seen if fired by other players. ROFL!
