Indeed. When I was taking a sign language class, we learned that even many deaf people don't consider themselves handicapped.

On the other hand (...makes a gesture as of something wooshing by overhead...) I think focusing on the word "handicapped" completely misses my point.

I understand. However: whether or not gay people personally see themselves as handicapped has little bearing on my overall point. And my point is simply that setting up a channel for the purpose of bashing people who can't help being gay, is approximately as fucking stupid as it would be to set up a channel to bash people who can't help being blind, or deaf, or short, or whatever.

What if the true intention wasn't to bash gay people but be show pride for being straight? Why is ok to proud of being gay but not straight?

there's nothing wrong with white pride, or straight pride, other than it's strange (stupid), you weren't necessarily persecuted like other skin colors, or other sexual preferences. if you weren't persecuted, why show pride in your birth given traits, afterall, we have determinted people are the same regardless of skin color (ok so maybe black people can jump a little higher cuz of that extra muscle).
