mine shows Q3 and Q4, among many other popular online sheeet

no Q2,

Will the ADD option do it ?
There are several ways to ADD it.

Yeah, you can see the "add" button just below the list. Click it and it brings up a typical browse feature to find quake2.exe (or other Q2) in the Quake2 directory. Just click the exe and Bobs your uncle.

Awesome fix! Worked for my friend who I setup with Q2 and had a Dual Core. Put it in a sticky or something.

do you all have nvidia's & multi-core's? I have an AMD X2 & an ATI but have never experienced these issues. Infact, I tried turning off one CPU last night to see if it made a difference & it didn't.

Only NVIDIA drivers implement the buggy as hell threaded "optimization". It caused issues for anticheat too, which is why http://antiche.at/ mentions that it should be disabled. It really should default off since it violates how OpenGL is supposed to work.

it may depend on the style of nvidia card that you are using..

My Nvidia control panel on my work comp doesn't show it under the advanced options, but its a Quadro NVS 285, and not a geforce series card.

It has some interesting options that I'm tempted to twiddle with tho..

Well I downloaded the nTune software and it gives me more options, but still no "threaded" option. That's Ok because I saw some improvement anyway. At the same time I DL-ed the correct series 7000 drivers for my GeForce 7300. Nvidia tells you to uninstall any previous drivers before you install the new. So I JUST uninstalled nTune - not the drivers and rebooted. Now my computer hangs when it gets to the Desktop. Thanx Nvidia. So its off to the computer shop for me this morning. I guess XP doesn't have a "Safe Mode" to boot into.

XP does have Safe Mode. When you turn on your computer press f8 over and over. will give you a boot menu. boot into safe mode and uninstall ALL you nvidia stuff.

Bingo! I'm back i n business. When I start my computer it only lists 2 options - F2 Boot and F11 Setup. I guess F8 is a secret but obviously very handy when you see all the different selections for booting. Problem solved. Thanx Jaegar!
