that is not the way to use the run command :P

either way, i highly suggest going back to xp

It has to be. If you don't know what the executable name is - how do you run it? Or find it? With Vista so bloated and 'dummy friendly' why wouldn't it help me by just going to the executable program which has that name? And I tried 'snipping' in Run and it didn't find that either even though thats what it calls it. I did finally get Mail but I'm terrified to test it. I know all my POP settings etc but who knows if it will send and receive. Windows Mail has also decided not to show all my e-mail Contacts on the left side where it lived for years. I now click on an icon somewhere in the top taskbar.
One week......

It depends, I think Run looks at the PATH variable for where to look for programs without a path.  There's also an area of the registry where you can make up aliases for executables that Run will look at.  If it doesn't find it in those two places, you must search for the executable name yourself and include the path.

Mail works fine on my Vista setup, the spam filter is absolutely fantastic I must say (no I'm not being sarcastic). I have run a few games like Bioshock and World in Conflict on Vista and they have all worked fine (if not better than XP). I haven't booted it up in about a month though (I use XP in dual boot). The reasons for this are number 1 that I can't get the mouse acceleration in Q2 to feel right and number 2 that the whole user interface is foobar'd and is just a total pain in the ass. I can make it just like XP's interface but why not just use XP? And Q2 is still borked.

I have installed almost every linux/ unix distro but each has its disadvantages, and eventually I fall back to XP. For me XP is simple and solid (no crashes here). The best I ever used was Server 2003 but I'm a gamer and it is not.

As far as Mac goes, it is fantastic provided you like overpriced hardware and don't like games. Hopefully we will see Mac gaming improve in the future.
