South Florida

Im asking this cause im going next year (as well as stops at Jacksonville, Tampa, and Orlando) for 1 1/2 months, and i've never been there before, but I just can't wait to go.

Bet its tight as hell! 1000x better than new orleans here.

what do yall  think ?  anyone here knows what its like ?

I've been to Ft. Lauderdale (and Orlando as well) a few times when I was younger. It was okay

I know a couple of people that live in various parts of Florida and haven't complained, so I guess it can't be that bad...except for the heat!



I suppose tho that going there on vacation and actually living there, someone else might have a better idea as to what it's really like there if you're planning on an extended stay.
But, from a vacationer's point of view concerning Florida in general... I'd go back again

lol, yeah I live here and I hate the heat, plus I have no A/C in my car, so I get all sweaty when I go anywhere.  I can't wait for winter to start so it will cool off a little bit, even though it will still be pretty warm.

i live on the gulf side, southwestern florida.

It is a pretty great place.  i feel like im on vacation every day.  Your blood thins and you get used to the heat pretty quick.  But like most americans, you live in a/c most of the time anyway between work/house/car, so the actual temperature doesnt really matter.  It is a pretty relaxed place.  And there is a special energy here.  The feeling of life force.  Maybe some of it comes from the sea, or the abundant plant life, i dont know.  i came from Nebraska, which was a very extreme state.  Constant struggle of some form.  So this to me, is purely paradise.  The only thing that brings you back to reality is the economy, which is still as good as anywhere else in america, its all in a dip right now.  It used to be, you would drop a nickel on the ground and it would turn into a quarter.  Now things are more realistic, but still very, very nice.  i dont ever plan on going anywhere else really.

Oh, I have a job, but it's an old car and not really worth it to fix the A/C.  I'll just sweat it out until I can get a new one.

i'll be going to ft lauderdale, miami, south beach, boca raton, and west palm beach.

if i like it, i might move there instead of going back to L.A or staying in New Orleans.



Yea, N.O is hot and humid most of the time, never too much of a winter here, therefore a slight
 difference from the tropics. Sad thing is: NO BEACHES! wetlands and canals everywhere.
