Simply put, we never get to play q2dm1 on dm anymore ( since even with he powerups off the ra is still under the stairs ).

I like the change and the quad personally but i do miss q2dm1.

I personally would vote for option 3 and 4 combined.

btw where's the quad on q2dm8? i always thought a quad on a ledge you could drop down to from the mg or over the hb would far enough away to go get but close enough to use it.

I think its fun camping the rail area and hitting spawns as they go in the water or sewer to keep up with the other guy that is running quad in the arena, puts a new spin on the gameplay :)

agreed exactly. also like the fact that just being a ra on the map changes how many times you can hit a player. i love three+ rails in a row.

I like ArenaQuad, but agree that there should be q2dm1 without the quad or RA in the rotation.

Alrighty... How's this?

I've changed it so that during the +pu cycle it runs q2dm1-arenaquad, and during the -pu cycle it runs q2dm1-unmodified.

I think the quad on DM8 is a good idea, BUT, make them work for it.
Put it right on top of the beams in the ceiling above the 3 story SSG/HB/canvier belt room.
Make them do the rocket jumps up the boxes at the BFG to get it.

Hehe, i'd forgotten about that, but that used to be on my TO-DO list. I was either gonna put invuln up there, or maybe a combination of quad and megahealth...

There's 2 spots that are even harder to spot. The vents immediatly above the BFG opening, and the Vents above the grating near the railgun where the slugs sit behind pillers.

There are .ent's for dm8 that make it a CTF map and these are the most common hiding spots for flag carriers and last man standing style intermission fights.

About q2dm1, I avoid the DM server because I just assume it's in the rotation. Q2dm1 even with remakes or mods clears out the Mutant, Vanilla, Rogue, and Xatrix servers quicker than rooftop serenade or the longest three feet.

True, but these are not hard to reach spaces.
A little rj, up N over ya go.
The roof top will have people being squished and blowing themselves up left and right.

personally, I don't like quad on DM1 at all

IMHO the default rotation should be -pu

well, to make sure my voice is heard, i like the dm server exactly the way it has been running.

dm2 is also running, and the quad can be voted off there altogether, if you wish to play there.

But the current setup of dm, with one run of quad, and one run of no quad is best the server has ever ran imo.
